European Blue Card – raise of the minimum salary required

By decree from Minister of the Interior, and as published in the Official Journal of the French Republic dated June 7, 2015, the average yearly gross reference salary is set to €35,554.

What consequence for foreigners applying for a work permit, under the European Blue Card process ?

Article R5221-31-1 of the Labor code states that a foreigner seeking a work permit with mention European Blue Card, must be paid 1,5 time the average yearly gross reference salary.

Thus, the minimum gross salary required move to €4444 per month (while it was fixed to €4396€ per month, until February 10, 2014).
